Salus App
Artist Statement
My design choices started out with compiling my color palate. The combination of a darker blue and a lighter blue stemmed from a larger palate including oranges and yellows. The decision to drop the additional colors was decided once I chose to change the logo colors to the blues instead of the original blue and orange. It also contributed to the overall simplicity of the app interface.
The typeface brother 1916 was chosen because of the basic structure of the font that gave me the ability to easily manipulate the logo and round out all the edges. Kantamury Pro was then added later on in the app design process because it looked more professional in basic type whereas brother seemed a little more childish at times.
Finally, once the first few pages of the app came together, the rest of the designs started to flow. I found it really important to keep specific attributes consistent, such as buttons, rounded corners and background boxes.
