Inspired by a close relative’s home “the shell house” on 17-mile drive in Pebble Beach, California, the composition was created using a multi-perspective approach. Using a variety of images of the distinct architecture all from various angles, the layout of the composition was created by layering the structures first. The stippling and line work using micron-pens was intended to distinguish the landscape from the architecture, and to create an intriguing and abstract piece. Finally, using oil based colored pencils, the colors of the windows were matched to the reflection of the sunset on the water in order to showcase the most significant part of the architecture which are the windows.
